at Discovery Park

It’s Midsummer! A beautiful time to walk together and be with the plants.

This gentle walk will focus on plant connection and getting to know several medicinal plants and their common uses. If you’re looking for an interactive, no-tech, hands on experience, join in!

  • Practices for embodied plant connection: observation, breath, reciprocity

  • Basics of plant identification

  • Discussion of seasonal medicinal herbs and common uses

  • Closing circle with herbal tea

For people aged 13+. Young people under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

We will not be harvesting any plants during this walk. Prepare to be outside the entire time. Must be able to walk comfortably for 1.5 miles.

Exact meeting location will be emailed to you a few days prior to the event.

Herbal Tea Blending

Engage all your senses as we sip, smell, and discuss the fundamentals of herbal tea blending. Let’s slow down our pace, connect with some incredible (and delicious) plants, and mix our own unique herbal tea blend.

What we’ll cover:

  • Different preparation methods (infusion, decoction, hot or cold)

  • Tasting a variety of herbal teas

  • Conversation about different herbs and why you may want to add them to your tea

  • Balancing your herbal blend for flavor and function

  • Creating your very own tea blend

$50 per person. All materials included: herbal tea tastings, a detailed handout, and your own blend.

This class will occur in conjunction with the Carnation Farms Harvest Market. Stop by the market before or after the class for hot food from the culinary team, tons of local artisan vendors, and plenty autumn cheer.
